Sponsorship
Standard Business Sponsorship
When local talent isn’t available to fill critical roles, Australian businesses can recruit skilled workers from overseas through a Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS). Approved sponsorships are valid for five years, allowing businesses to nominate foreign workers for visas such as the Skills in Demand (SID) Visa (Subclass 482) and the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (SESR) Visa (Subclass 494). Businesses can also apply for accredited sponsorship, which provides faster visa processing and other benefits, giving them a competitive edge in attracting international talent.
Learn MoreSponsorship Obligations
When an Australian business sponsors an overseas skilled worker under a Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS), they must comply with several obligations. These obligations ensure that the sponsor follows proper practices and meets the conditions set by the Department of Home Affairs
Learn MoreLabour Agreement
Labour agreements (LA) enable approved businesses to sponsor skilled overseas workers when there is a demonstrated need that cannot be met in the Australian labour market and where standard temporary or permanent visa programs are not available for visas like the Skills in Demand (SID) Visa (Subclass 482) and the Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (SESR) Visa (Subclass 494). Labour agreements offer more flexibility than standard migration programs and can be customised to meet the specific needs of industries and businesses.
