Temporary Sponsored Parent Visa (Subclass 870)
The Subclass 870 Temporary Sponsored Parent Visa allows parents to live in Australia temporarily for up to 5 years without needing to meet the Balance of Family Test. This visa is ideal for parents who want to stay with their children in Australia on a temporary basis.
Stay in Australia for up to 3 or 5 years.
No requirement to meet the Balance of Family Test.
Can be renewed for a maximum total duration of 10 years in Australia.
Must be sponsored by an eligible child who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.

Eligibility Criteria for Australian Parent Visas
The eligibility requirements for Australian parent visas vary depending on the visa type:
Balance of Family Test:
For permanent parent visas (except for the Subclass 870), you must meet the Balance of Family Test
Age Requirements:
For the Aged Parent Visas (Subclass 804, 864, 884), you must be of pension age or older.
Sponsorship:
You must be sponsored by a child who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. For the Subclass 870, the sponsor must meet income requirements and apply to become an approved sponsor.
